HOW TO PLAY!
The most important thing in The Misty Isle is to play your character by expressing them in as many facets as words and text are able. The best way to do this is by using the commands emote, say, tell, feel, and think.
EMOTE is how we express our character's PHYSICAL actions to the world. Using ~ with the emote command targets PCs and NPCs, and using * targets an item. You can also put dialogue into your emotes, and change your sentence structure up by utilizing the @ symbol to place your character's short description where you like.
SAY is a non-directed bit of dialogue. It is useful when speaking in or to a crowd as opposed to an individual.
TELL is a bit of dialogue directed to a person. If you're engaged in conversation with someone else, this is a great command. That way, your target is less likely to miss any responses from you to them. Again, just like with say, you can attach parenthesis to add a bit of flair to your tell.
THINK is self-explanatory! This command when utilized gives staff a great idea about your character's internal workings and machinations, since those are not always in line with what a character says in front of or to others. Think can be as simple as inwardly expressing needs or commentary, too!
FEEL is how your character feels about a particular situation, person, or thing and can be used much like think. It could be used for physical feelings, too.
While think and feel are completely optional, we personally think and feel that they are excellent tools to help the player flesh out their character and we encourage you to utilize them along with emoting, saying, and telling so the world can more soundly adapt to your character's story!
We want you, as a player, to feel empowered to express your character's likes, dislikes, their motivations, their idiosyncrasies, as you see them, to other players and the gameworld and we look forward to witnessing and interacting with your creativity!
