Characters' skills and attributes can be increased over time, through the expenditure of character points. How to Acquire Character Points:- Passively - Character points are earned whether or not you are online at a steady rate, of 14 points per week.
- Rewards - For the consistent portrayal of a character, for involving other characters, and for playing conflict appropriately, further character points can be awarded based on GM discretion.
- Upon Creating a Character - When you create a character, you will receive a number of character points according to that character's tier. Tier 1 characters will receive 800 CP to spend. Tier 2 and tier 3 characters will receive 600 CP to spend. Tier 4 characters will receive 300 CP to spend, which is an intentionally lower amount to reflect the longer-term nature of tier 4 characters.
- Something to Note - Character points are associated with a player's account rather than an individual character. If they are not spent on your present PC, they can be used on your next. The exception is character points received upon creating of a character, which must be spent on that character.
What to Use Character Points For:- Skills: Points can be spent to increase skills through the "increase <skillname> <number of points to increase the skill by>" command. The costs are as follows: 4 CP per skill point when within 10 points of the skill cap; 3 CP per skill point when within 20 points of the skill cap; 2 CP per skill point when within 30 points of the skill cap; and 1 CP per skill point otherwise.
- Attributes: Each additional attribute point costs 100 character points. These must be requested through staff.

Literacy and Languages Literacy rates on Hârn are low. Some nobles and few commoners are literate. Most clergy are literate. If a character is in a profession where they are more likely than not to be literate, we will add the requisite knowledge to them. There is, for now, no associated CP cost.
While most characters speak just one language, Hârnic, some characters may be multilingual, such as the few Ivinians resident in Chybisa. If this is the case, we will add the appropriate extra languages. There is no associated CP cost for now.
