No two interpretations of a tabletop setting are going to be the same. Hârn has a vast amount of material detailing the world. These are the more noteworthy changes to a purely canonical game.
Gender Equality In The Misty Isle, inheritance rights are equal for genders in Laranian realms, which includes much of Hârn, as opposed to canon Hârn, which has a default male preference for inheritance. That is to say, in The Misty Isle, where there is an older daughter and a younger son, the daughter will be preferred for inheritance, because she is older, while in most canon versions, the son would be preferred because he is male. This will be reflected in the cast list with more landholding women than is the case in canon.
A notable exception to this is Ivinians. Ivinian society in The Misty Isle remains a male-dominated one.
Professions, particularly the military, in The Misty Isle, may be assumed to be equally open to everyone.
Canonical religious orders which are strictly one gender or another, including the female-only church of Halea, the Peonian orders, various Agrikan orders, and others, remain single-gender.
Tribal societies remain as described in canon.
Magic I have not and do not plan to implement any magic systems. Magic is present in the world but is not a common sight. No player character can use magic, at least to start with, and I do not currently plan to change that. Fantastical peoples and creatures are present and are known about. Magical items may be encountered but will be rare.
