Welcome to the Misty Isle, a roleplaying game using the HârnWorld setting. If you have not already seen it, I direct your attention to this post outlining details about the game: themistyisle.boards.net/thread/8/start-introduction-misty-isle
The first episode of the game will run from 12 January until 15 March. I hope to use that time to test the viability of the concept and set the scene for a larger second episode, which will also take place in Chybisa, but encompassing the entire kingdom.
The FutureMUD engine has a plethora of features, some of which we are using, and many of which we are not. The most notable absence from launch will be character literacy, which is well-supported by the engine, though I may add it soon afterwards. Surgical abilities for those with medicine are not included either. We will see how combat goes, when it arises, and characters returning injured from a GMed event - since all combat will be in GMed events anyway - will be healed by GM intervention in the meantime.
On the matter of FutureMUD, its creator, Luke Cunningham, or Japheth, has been a tremendous help, so thank you. Details of the engine can be found at www.labmud.com/
The game can be connected to using a MUSH or MUD client with the below details. I recommend using MUSHclient.
Address: themistyisle.org
Port: 4000
We are now open for character applications. If you wish to play a tier 1 to 3 character, please log in to the game and use the PETITION command, after logging in as a guest, to signal interest first. If you are applying for a tier 1 character, I would appreciate if you could provide a little information about your experience with games like this. Since we may get multiple applications for the same character, please also indicate a second character that would be of interest - or you could alternatively play a tier 4 character.
Those applying for tier 4 characters can go straight to the character creation process.
The character creation process is currently overriding custom descriptions. For now, save them somewhere, and we can add them to your characters once you have completed character creation.
I have set up a Discord server for game updates and general discussion at discord.gg/uBXMbvqmEU
